As you read this post, you will learn more on how you can register for Interim Joint Matriculation Board (IJMB) programme.
For those who do not know what IJMB programme is about, here is a brief explanation. IJMB is a programme that runs for 9-11 months. The programme qualifies students who undergo it and also sit for the final examination to 200lv admission through direct entry in 70% of Nigerian Universities that accept it without JAMB.
IJMB application form is usually between #8000 to #10,000. This is because there are various registration and study centres nationwide and even within a state. It is also worthy of note that there are IJMB centres that are not accredited and the dangers of registering with such centres cannot be overestimated.
Candidates who which to register for IJMB should bear in mind that three courses are to be selected I.e their three important subject as in JAMB but this time ENGLISH is not compulsory. For example, a candidate who is applying for medicine is to choose :
Physics, Chemistry, and biology.
Other candidates from sciences can also choose three subjects from the subjects below depending our your course;
Chemistry, physics, biology, mathematics, Geography etc
Business management, Economics Government, ACCOUNT, Sociology CRS/IRS, Literature for Arts/Social Sciences/Humanities applicants.
IJMB REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
- As contained in JAMB brochure, a student who wish to register for IJMB programme should pocess at least five O/L credit passes in relevant courses which include mathematics and English.
- Student who do not have a complete result can however use awaiting result but O/L result must be available before direct admission into the University.
IJMB Fees Breakdown
Since there are different IJMB centres in Nigeria and even in different states, it is also worthy of note that school fees vary from state to state, centre to centre. IJMB fees which includes accommodation, acceptance and tuition is between 138,000 to 173,000 with science students making a payment of 10,000 naira extra for practical and this payment can also be made on instalment depending on the centre you register with.
The least payment prospective students can resume with is N80,000
Accommodation is available for incoming students and also it is not compulsory. However, accommodation is on first come first serve basis. This means your accommodation cannot be guaranteed if you do not pay for it as at when due. We will advise you ask if accommodation is still available before you register for the programme.
IJMB is acceptable in over 70% of Nigerian universities for admission into 200lv without JAMB. You Check page 4 of jamb brochure for more information.

How to register for IJMB programme
If you go online to search for IJMB programme, you will see numerous websites and some of the sites will claim to be IJMB official website. Some will provide their account numbers for you to make payment for application form. Do not fall for them. Why? This is because IJMB do not have an official website. IJMB is owned and moderated by ABU, Zaria and their official website is
and again just few of the many account Numbers you see online is real.
So what should you do?
To get IJMB application form, kindly visit any of the registration centre closer to you but in case you do not have a centre in your state, do not panic. Kindly call IJMB GUIDE contact line.
