List of state Universities approved to offer Law programme in Nigeria.
All students willing to practice law as a profession in Nigeria must attend The Council of Legal Education. This Council is the body that regulates the Nigerian Law School.
The Nigerian law school and the Council of Legal Education were established in 1962, following the enactment of the Legal Education Act to ensure the study of the Nigerian customary law by prospective members of the bench.
The Purpose of this list is to help prospective law students who wish to study in any private Universities access the Approved private institutions for the programme.
Concerned students should note that the list containing the list of Approved State Universities offering law programmes is not arranged in any particular order.

State Universities Accredited Law Faculties In Nigeria
Before we begin to list This Universities, we will first, explain some of the terms which we will be meeting below. Some of these terms are:
Full Accreditation: A law faculty in any Nigerian University with this status has complied with all the requirements of the Council of Legal Education.
Provisional Accreditation: This means that the faculty to a very large extent has complied with requirements of the Council of Legal Education.
Accreditation suspended : This simply explain that the accreditation of the faculty have been suspended by the Council of Legal Education.
Undergoing Accreditation: This means the approval to study law in the institution is being considered, but not yet approved for admission of students in to the Faculty of Law.
Interim Accreditation: This means that the faculty have been approved to commence but subject to further accreditation.

Note
The Council of Legal Education and the Board of Study for admission of students to the Nigerian Law School and entrance into the Legal profession do not Recognize any form of Law programme order than Full-time programme in any Nigerian University.
Studying Law in Open University is Also Not Recognized. Prospective candidates should take note of this important information.
