How To Improve Your Study Life And Start Enjoying Reading Once Again
Every one reads and writes. However, not everyone has
effective study life . There is a big
dichotomy between
reading and having a reading life .
One clear sign that you don’t have a study life is that you study only for exams . The fact that you are reading for your examination doesn’t mean that you are an ardent reader. It simply means that you don’t want to fail.
To enjoy reading, you need to develop a healthy study life. Until you improve your study life, you may continue to struggle in the place of studies .
Now, you may be wondering, how do I improve my study life and start liking reading once again? This is what you shall benefit in this article.
How To Improve Your Study Life And Love Reading
Success requires some processes. You don’t get juice without subjecting orange to
pressure . Improving your study life requires sacrifice and commitment. If you are ready to improve your study life then follow the steps below:
1. You Must Read:
The first step to improve your reading life and begin to enjoy yourself in the place of reading
is to read . Until you begin to “ carry book “, you can’t enjoy reading
At first, reading might be boring to you. But the more you force yourself to read, the more you start getting used to it. With time, you will automatically begin to love reading.
The best way to cultivate the habit of reading is to start reading. The law of attraction states that, “you will attract what you like”. Therefore, the more you begin to read and start liking it, it automatically becomes part of you. Therefore, you won’t have to struggle to read.
2. Time Yourself While Reading:
You may say, “I don’t like reading”, but that’s what we are trying to correct here. In my number one step above, I explain that you must read before you can start “liking reading”. In this second point, I will teach you how you should read to start enjoy yourself.
As you try to improve your study life, learn to vary your duration. Don’t close your books when you are tired or just feel distracted.
Tell yourself, I must read for fours hours today and five hours tomorrow. The more you challenge and stress yourself, the more you will begin to adapt. The law of Use and Disuse works here.
3. Use Different Books:
The books you read have a major role to play. When you read boring books, reading becomes boring to you and vice versa.
Irrespective of the subject you want to study, there are simple and self explanatory books you can use. The good news is that these books are readily available.
Try as much as possible to use more than one textbook per course or subject. This will make you eventually fall in love with one of the books.
4. Meet Those Who Love Reading:
Who you follow determines what follows . You can’t follow those who don’t like reading and expect the spirit of reading to fall on you.
Try as much as possible to be in the company of those whose strength are your weakness . Hangout with those who are enjoying what you find very difficult to achieve.
It is advisable that you get study partner(s) who will spur you up for greatness. Disconnect from friendships that don’t add value to your life and destiny. Be attached to people you dream to be like.
Are you the type of person that sleeps off while reading? Meet those who will strengthen you. There will always be persons
who do what you find impossible to achieve. They are available to help you.
5. Strive To Understand Every Topic:
One of the major reasons why many students don’t like reading is that they find it difficult to understand what they have read. Trust me, nobody enjoys reading when comprehension is an issue.
To improve your study life, you must ask questions and continue to ask questions until the topic is clear. Remember, it is what you have in your head that takes you ahead. You don’t need a big head to move ahead.
